Washington has indicated that the following items are accepted or not accepted at kiosk locations:

ACCEPTED: Medications in any dosage form, except for those identified as Not Accepted, in their original container or sealed bag.

NOT ACCEPTED: Herbal remedies, vitamins, supplements, other personal care products, medical devices, batteries, mercury-containing thermometers, sharps, illicit drugs, pet pesticide products, animal medicines, and biologics.

Local take-back events offer residents a safe, free, and convenient way to dispose of expired or unwanted household medication. The local authorities and MED-Project or Inmar Intelligence may also sponsor local drug take-back events in your area. A Covered drug is any drug that is not excluded from the definition of covered drug and is a drug from a covered entity that the covered entity no longer wants and that the covered entity has abandoned or discarded or intends to abandon or discard. “Covered drug” includes legend drugs and nonlegend drugs, brand name and generic drugs, drugs for veterinary use for household pets, and drugs in medical devices and combination products.
